GiftNet
is a three-tiered professional development project.
The most involved tier is our Guided
Cluster Groups. These groups are made up of staff
representatives from GKP contributing schools that are
committed to bringing about school-wide lasting change
in relation to gifted education.
This intensive level of professional development enabled
schools to focus on increasing
opportunities and raising achievement of GKP students
and to assist teachers in our contributing schools
to be more aware of and better able to cater for the
social and emotional needs of their students.
Regional cluster groups meet once each term and each
school is offered in-school professional development
and support. A professional development budget has been
allocated to each cluster school for professional
resources, conference registrations and guest speakers
to assist them in achieving their GiftNet goals.
In addition to this, each cluster has a mentor
who works along side the GiftNet coordinator, providing
professional development, support and advice.
