Do you have students who attend the Gifted Kids Programme (GKP) in Whangarei, Auckland, Rotorua, or Wellington?

Are you interested in professional development opportunities to help you better cater for gifted students in your school?

Looking for resources to support your work with gifted students?

Then, this is the site for you! This site is designed as another means for GKP staff to “keep close” to our contributing schools and to share our professional knowledge so that we can work together to support GKP kids.

GiftNet is a professional development programme which is co-funded by GKP and the Ministry of Education's Talent Development Initiative. All contributing schools are invited to participate (for free!) in this exciting venture which runs from 2006-2008. Do you have students who attend the Gifted Kids Programme (GKP) in Whangarei, Auckland, Rotorua, or Wellington?

GiftNet will support staff in participating
schools by:

Working with school principals and/or school leaders responsible for gifted education in cluster-style development;

Facilitating mini-conferences and after-school workshops in quality education for gifted and talented students in Whangarei, Auckland, Rotorua and Wellington.

  GiftNet Objectives
  Our specific objectives for this project are:

To increase opportunities and raise achievement of GKP students in their mainstream schools, in their area/s of talent;

For teachers in our contributing schools to be more aware of and better able to cater for the social and emotional needs of gifted students; and

To further bridge the gap between GKP and contributing schools so that we can better work together to support each other.
